The strain in schools in recent years has necessitated not just a high level of resilience on the part of school leaders. It has surely provided the opportunity to find new abilities and strengths that would not have been revealed in more tranquil times. Or as Horatius said: “In difficult circumstances, qualities develop that go unnoticed under normal circumstances.”
