Hello! My name is Jonathan Coy, and I am co-host of HeadteacherChat. I am delighted to have been given access to Picturepath to see what they have on offer to support schools and I thought you would be interested to know what I discovered! Read the full review below...
How does Picturepath describe their product?
Children with autism can often feel overwhelmed by sudden changes to their daily routine. Creating a digital timeline enables you to make your day easy and stress free.
Easily manage your pupils’ visual timelines from one central location. Preload all your timelines and any changes can be made quickly and easily. No more printing, cutting, and laminating required.
What does it enable you to do?
What do Headteacher Chat think?
We believe Picturepath would be invaluable in supporting children who find routine difficult. The intuitive software is very easy to use and doesn’t need lots of training to get started. This makes it so much more efficient than creating/using your own visual timetables. What is great about the app is that it works across multiple devices so the pupils can have one timeline that works at home and at school. The information can also be used in EHCP reviews to show successes.
It’s an excellent parent communication system too, with parent pride and home re-enforcement built at its heart. It informs parents of their child’s successes in real-time. It also reduces school administration gives parents/carers having direct communication with the classroom teacher/Teaching Assistant.
Lastly, if your school is spending lots of time and money on texts, laminating, and paper, PicturePath will help to resolve this. Staff and parents can use it to send messages, reminders or even messages such as lost football kits!
If your school wants to improve the engagement with parents of children with SEN, and save time and reduce costs along the way, Picturepath could be your perfect answer.
“Having Picturepath has been great, children can see the day's activities planned out and it’s so easy to update and manage any changes. It’s meant much less classroom disruptions “ Jenna McNally, SENCO at St Matthews Primary School
“I found it really useful from the very beginning, your product is one of the best I've ever used for individual inclusion! “ Dot Mohan, SendCo at Bromham CofE Primary
In summary, HeadteacherChat recommends Picturepath because:
“We have found the use of the digital visual timetables on Picturepath to be an invaluable tool in being able to support the teaching of children who find routines and transitions challenging. If you are looking for ways to engage such pupils and improve your communication with parents and carers, then we would highly recommend this product.”
Jonathan Coy, HeadteacherChat.
